    #SylsFuture Updates

    Welcome to SylsFuture Fundraising Website

St Sylvester's GAA Club has embarked on an exciting journey to bring the next phase of the Broomfield Development Plan to life.

Our vision is to create a vibrant and inclusive space that enhances the playing facilities across all areas used in Broomfield, including both owned and public areas.

Imagine a 22-acre campus bustling with activity, featuring multi-purpose facilities such as sports fields, training areas, indoor training facilities, and community spaces.  We are making this a reality in 2025!

    OUR CLUB IS GROWING!

    IMPORTANCE OF THE DEVELOPMENT

    INVESTING IN OUR SQUADS

Significant effort and investment in facilities has facilitated a very strong increase in participation rates over the last 3 years and provided better support to local schools. Our community is growing stronger and more connected every day.

Club membership has grown 50% since 2018 to 4,000+, with especially strong growth in the Juvenile and Ladies/Girls sections.

We have had strong success on the field, with our Mens’ and Ladies’ sections achieving league and intercounty success.

This positive exposure has spurred tremendous interest and support for our Club.

Our Club is debt free and the Broomfield Development plan will not incur any borrowings.

    INVESTING IN OUR SQUADS

    IMPORTANCE OF THE DEVELOPMENT

    INVESTING IN OUR SQUADS

We are proud to share that over €2.5MM has been invested in improving our existing playing facilities.

Phase I of the development was delivered in 2020, with the completion of the Broomfield All Weather Pitch.

Phase II was completed in early 2024. This involved the development of an All Weather training facility focused on accommodating juvenile games and training.  This facility has helped to free up grass pitches for older age groups.

Phase III, in collaboration with Fingal County Council, is the most ambitious yet and will significantly advance our club's vision.

FCC will commence work on Pitch 3, Pitch 4, and the training pitch at Broomfield, creating one full-size grass pitch and two juvenile grass pitches.

St Sylvester's GAA will focus on enhancing toilet facilities, upgrading the pavilion, and building a new indoor athletic development facility.

Together, we are building a brighter future for our members and the community.

Work on the development has already commenced and it is expected to be completed by 2026.

The upgraded infrastructure at Broomfield is intended to benefit the wider Malahide community including our local schools and community groups.

    IMPORTANCE OF THE DEVELOPMENT

Winter training space is very constrained across all age groups.  Pitch space is at a premium with lit All Weather surfaces in high demand.

Older groups have an increased number of training sessions as they progress through competitions. Juvenile male and female squads have grown in size, with many squads now exceeding 80 players. Girls and Boys Academy membership is approaching 500 children.

Expanded Broomfield facilities will allow all teams increased access to appropriate facilities and opportunity to train.

New walkways will be part of the Active Travel programme by Fingal County Council, providing a positive community amenity.

These investments will support long-term sporting success for our members. We hope to create a legacy that will benefit generations to come!

PHASE 3 OF OUR DEVELOPMENT PLAN IS UNDERWAY

Broomfield Phase 1 was delivered in 2019, Phase 2 in 2024 and Phase 3 is now underway

Phase 1 involved the floodlighting of Pitch 1 and the development of a floodlit All Weather Pitch at Broomfield.  The pitch has made a huge difference to the number of teams that can train in the winter months allowing broader participation for players at all levels and across both codes of the sport.

Phase II resulted in the expansion of the All Weather facilities with the addition of a new 40,000 sq. ft. training area. This facility helped free up pitch space for Adult games and allowed additional time slots for Juvenile training and games

Phase III will see the expansion of toilet facilities, expansion of changing rooms and gym facilities, and lighting of new adult and juvenile pitches to be developed in conjunction with Fingal County Council.
